Flightradar24’s real-time flight tracking data is coming to the flight simulation ecosystem through a new collaboration with Navigraph, giving sim pilots a new way to bring real-world air traffic into their virtual skies.
Through this collaboration, Navigraph is now the only platform bringing Flightradar24 real-time traffic data into flight simulation. The first integration is available through FSLTL, enabling real-time traffic injection into Microsoft Flight Simulator with 3D model-matched aircraft. Additional third-party integrations are already underway through the Navigraph API platform.
For flight simulation pilots, this means a more realistic and dynamic simulator experience, with real-world aircraft movements reflected directly in the simulator environment.
Who is Navigraph?
Navigraph is a Swedish company founded in 2003 that has provided realistic aviation data to flight simulation enthusiasts for more than 20 years. With a Navigraph Unlimited subscription, flight simulation enthusiasts get access to Jeppesen-sourced navigation data, charts, and flight planning tools for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024, Laminar Research X-Plane 11/12, and Lockheed Martin Prepar3D v2-6.
Subscriptions include access to updated airport charts, VFR charts, enroute charts, navigation data, flight planning tools, and now Flightradar24-sourced real-world air traffic. The subscription price is approximately 10 EUR per month. Navigraph apps and services are available across Windows, Mac, desktop computers, tablets, and phones.
Bringing real-world traffic into the simulator
The first Flightradar24 traffic integration is available through FSLTL, a popular traffic injector for Microsoft Flight Simulator. By connecting through Navigraph, FSLTL users can inject Flightradar24 real-time traffic into the simulator, with aircraft represented using matching 3D models where available.
To enable Flightradar24 traffic data in Microsoft Flight Simulator via FSLTL, pilots need to create an account at navigraph.com and subscribe to Navigraph Unlimited. In the FSLTL app, users then authenticate via Navigraph to enable live traffic data injection into the simulator.
Flightradar24 traffic in Navigraph Charts
The collaboration will also bring Flightradar24 traffic into Navigraph Charts. Users will soon be able to view Flightradar24 traffic directly on interactive enroute maps, alongside virtual flight simulation traffic networks such as VATSIM and IVAO.
This gives pilots another way to compare real-world aviation activity with online simulator traffic, flight plans, and navigation data in one place.
More integrations on the way
Navigraph has an extensive network of third-party flight simulator developers integrating its APIs and services. Developers interested in bringing Flightradar24 traffic into their own flight simulation projects can contact dev@navigraph.com or visit developers.navigraph.com.
