In late 2025, Air France announced plans to open a lounge at London Heathrow Airport (LHR), which is positive news for SkyTeam travelers departing from one of the airport’s main terminals. There’s now an exciting update, as the lounge has opened as of today, so we also have more details about what to expect from this lounge.

Air France Lounge London Heathrow Terminal 4 details

As of July 7, 2026, Air France has opened a new lounge at Heathrow Airport Terminal 4, which is open daily from 5AM until 10PM. The lounge is around 750 square meters (8,070 square feet), with seating for 150 guests. When it comes to amenities, here’s what you can expect:

  • Floor-to-ceiling windows with lots of natural light, and panoramic views of the apron and runways
  • There’s a dining area with a buffet that changes throughout the day, with sweet and savory items; there’s also a bar with a selection of French wine and champagne
  • There’s an area for relaxation, plus a section with workstations
  • There’s a Clarins Spa area in a private treatment room, open Monday through Friday, and treatments are available on a first come, first served basis, or La Premiere customers can make a reservation in advance; guests can choose one complimentary treatment — options include “Anti Jet-Lag,” “L’Instant Detox,” and “Focus Regard”
  • There’s a special section for those connecting to La Premiere (first class), which has five seats, and offers a la carte dining
  • There’s a section for Flying Blue Ultimate members, with four seats

For an outstation lounge, that’s all very impressive. You can find some pictures of the new lounge below.

The lounge follows typical SkyTeam lounge access rules, so it’s open to SkyTeam first and business class passengers, as well as SkyTeam Elite Plus members. For those curious, the lounge is taking over the space of the former Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge, which closed permanently in late 2020.

This is a great addition to Air France’s lounge network

Strategically, London Heathrow is of course an important market for virtually any airline that flies there. That’s particularly true when you consider that British Airways is based at Heathrow, which is a major competitor of Air France. So it’s normal to want to offer a great lounge experience at the hub of a competitor.

Among lounges operated by European carriers, there’s no denying that Air France does among the best jobs. It’s cool to see that the lounge has a spa, along with dedicated areas for La Premiere customers and Flying Blue Ultimate members, as is standard in Air France operated lounges.

Previously, Air France sent its premium passengers to the Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow Terminal 4, so this should be a very nice upgrade to the experience. Interestingly, there used to be the the two-level SkyTeam Lounge, but that was replaced by a Plaza Premium Lounge on one level, and the new Saudia Lounge on another level.

Bottom line

Air France has just opened a lounge at London Heathrow Airport. The lounge is around 750 square meters, with seating for around 150 guests. It has an impressive number of amenities, including a spa, a first class section, and even an area for top tier elite members. It’s nice to see Air France opening its own facility at the airport, and it should be good news for SkyTeam flyers in general.
